ivolve Support & Care, like many other Care Providers in the UK had a staff shortage through the pandemic. As vacancies rose from 110,000 to 145,000, many staff leaving the sector due to the coronavirus vaccinations, filling vacancies became an extremely tough task to manage centrally.
Jon Burton was tasked at ivolve Support & Care to find a solution that would fulfil all temporary staffing vacancies, supporting ivolve Support & Care on their mission to provide person-centred Care and maintain their excellent CQC rating.
At the time, ivolve Support & Care had a plethora of underperforming agencies that were neither managed centrally nor commercially viable for the business long-term. This gave ivolve Support & Care complete control and visibility of spending, filling any remaining vacancies through the bespoke panel of appropriate agencies and their dedicated staff.

Care Hires stepped in to help ivolve Care & Support find staff for one of their services, working with their local team. Seeing the strengths of the Care Hires system, especially the 100% shift fulfilment rate, the easy visibility of their agency spending and how it was allocated, soon 4 of their services were using the system, with the accounts team getting a much clearer picture of the spend given.
Sharing the positive impact that using the Care Hires system delivered with colleagues, by October 2021, 72 ivolve care services across the UK had transitioned to the Care Hires system for their staffing needs, able to provide 100% shift fulfilment at a negotiated flat rate.
Meeting with ivolves’ managers weekly to identify any urgent needs or hotspots, we can manage the requirements by anticipating problems and putting solutions in place before they manifest. The Care Hires team is also taking on the role of onboarding any new staffing agencies, saving ivolve yet more time.
Now covering Leicestershire, Nottinghamshire, Lincolnshire, Manchester, Lancashire and Surrey, Care Hires is transforming the working practices for ivolve.
