iBC are a leading Health and Social Care provider in the Midlands, providing support and care to 100s of individuals in the Midlands community with learning disabilities, complex needs, autism and mental health needs.
iBC approached Care Hires to fulfil vacancies that were exacerbated by Covid-19, as well as gain control over their external workforce through a centralised infrastructure that places care at the heart of supply and the management of such.
The initial fact-finding with iBC revealed that they were encountering problems very common to many Care Providers in the UK. Their staff were using traditional methods to communicate and organise their temporary staff requirements with a small group of agencies, involving a process which tied up a large volume of administrative time and cost.
As this was handled by separate teams across different locations and services, there was inconsistency in the quality that was delivered, as well as the reliability of the agency staff that were selected. Having a reliance on agencies who underdelivered but feeling alternative options were few and far in-between, iBC found themselves in a situation needing reliability, consistency and professionalism.
The cost of agency staff was also something which iBC management was keen to reduce if at all possible, as this was a key business priority, which would aid iBC in making further investments into the infrastructure of the care they provide their service users.
Owner of iBC
The key strength of the Care Hires platform itself is that it saves providers a huge amount of time. By bringing all agencies onto one central platform, we are able to make the kinds of efficiencies that make a real difference.
Through a thorough assessment of the agencies which were currently being used by the iBC team, Care Hires was able to identify new agencies that would be able to deliver the same or better levels of service at a reduced cost and use this information to help renegotiate rates with selected agencies already on the books.
The iBC team were also fully trained in the use of the Care Hires system, used to handle all temporary staff bookings for our customers, designed to save their teams a huge amount of time by bringing all processes together onto o single, easy-to-use platform.
Our system was able to provide 100% fulfilment of shifts, giving a massive improvement over the previous arrangements for temporary staff.
By saving around 5 minutes of time per shift by replacing traditional methods of staff sourcing with the Care Hires System, iBC staff saved the equivalent of over £ 10,000 per year just on sourcing temporary staff.
By consolidating the invoices into a single payment, we are able to cut down the amount of time processing payments and paperwork, ultimately saving around £ 11,000 per year.
