How We Helped
The Care Hires platform was able to totally transform the process for Wigan Cares to book new staff, bringing them up close to our target of 100% shift fulfilment, through our bespoke agency network with entirely pre-vetted staff. “Recruitment and within the industry has slowed massively post-covid and the need for care has risen hugely. Filling that gap working with yourselves seems to be working very well,” says Andrea Lyon, Registered Manager at Wigan Cares. “There are always workers there and the agencies seem to have a very, very good relationship with Care Hires and have found us cover at very short notice, which is fantastic. It’s working well.”
The system has not only helped to raise the staffing levels, but has also given the team easier, more efficient ways of working. She continues: “It’s been a breath of fresh air, it’s streamlined a lot of our processes, and it’s opened us up to make new relationships with workers,” focusing on the continuity that the Care Hires system provides, with Care Providers being able to select or specifically request whichever worker they want for a particular shift.
The platform has also helped to reduce at administrative burden for other parts of the organisation, including finance and the overall process of certifying timesheets. “Before, things were a lot more manual. Now it’s managed over the platform, so we receive a timesheet weekly and we can authorize that, we can ask for changes, it’s very swift.” The improved processes are greatly improving the working relationships of the agencies and workers who were doing the work. “I’m reassured that the workers on the other side you receive their salary quickly, and it builds on the relationships. They’re receiving payment in time, we’re invoicing on time, and it manages our budgets a lot better as well.
